New Student Guide for Online Students

Congratulations and welcome to the University of Guelph-Humber!

This guide is designed specifically for online students in the following degree programs:

  • BAA Justice & Public Safety (Online) 
  • Early Childhood Studies Transfer (Online)
  • Community Social Services (Online)

Activate your GH email account

*This is your Central Login password that you will use for your university email, WebAdvisor, CourseLink, and more!

Once you have activated your GH Email account, please also ensure that you complete the following:

Confirm your mailing address. Please ensure we have the correct mailing address on file.
  1. Sign into WebAdvisor.
  2. Select "Students" under "Main Menu."
  3. Select "Change My Address/Phone Number" under "Personal Info (User Profile).
  4. If you need to change or add a mailing address, see the instructions for Change of Address/Personal Information.
Confirm your emergency contact information. Students are required to provide at least one emergency contact.
  1. Sign into WebAdvisor.
  2. Select "Students" under "Main Menu."
  3. Select the “Emergency Contact Information” option under "Personal Info (User Profile)."
  4. If you need to change or add an emergency contact, see the instructions for Emergency Contact Information.

Orientation

To help you prepare for life as an online student, orientation videos and resources will be provided through your course website, called CourseLink, starting in early August.

Order your textbooks

*Required textbooks will be listed on your Course Outline. In August, textbooks can be ordered from the Humber Bookstore.
