    • An additional activity for international students to connect with each other and support services. A direct invitation will be sent to all incoming international students in July 2026.

On Campus Schedule for Tuesday, September 1 and Thursday, September 3

10:30 a.m. Check-in

Welcome to your new home! Make sure to learn about all the great services available to you as a student, ring the GH Bell, grab a bite to eat or just hang out until the official sessions begin.

11:00 a.m. Concurrent Session

Your First Year Experience Leaders will guide you through four separate sessions to put you in the best spot to succeed as you enter your first year at U of GH. These include:

Inside Your Program: What to Expect

A chance to meet your Chair, Associate Head, Academic Advisor, and Career & Placement Services supports! They will share pro tips and support that will help you during your time at U of GH.

IGNITE Lunch

IGNITE, your student union, will host a a welcome lunch for you to enjoy!

IGNITE Icebreaker Activity

IGNITE, your student union, will host a variety of activities focused on helping you connect with fellow students in your program.

AI, Essays, and Ethics

With emerging tools and AI, it can be difficult to know what is and isn’t permitted. This session will clarify everything you need to know to ensure you're following the academic integrity guidelines at U of GH.

2:00 p.m. Optional Activities

Feel free to explore campus at your own pace, relax and connect with others through casual games, or join a campus tour to see where you can access services introduced earlier in the day. 

3:30 p.m. End of Day

Chill Zone

Need a breather? We’ve got you.

Orientation can be exciting—but it can also feel like a lot. The Chill Zone Room is a calm, welcoming space where students can step away from the hustle, recharge, and reset.

Drop in anytime to:

  • Take a quiet break
  • Try relaxing activities
  • Sit, breathe, or decompress
  • Re-center before heading back out

    There’s no schedule and no pressure—pop in, pop out, and go at your own pace. Whether you need five minutes or a bit longer, the Chill Zone is here for you.

Become an active member of the U of GH community and discover how your campus engagement can shape your future. Getting involved in the many co-curricular opportunities we offer will contribute to your personal growth and experience as a U of GH student. You can also add these to your Co-Curricular Record (CCR) which is a useful addition to your resume for future jobs, internships, and placements.
