OSAP - New Students and Parents

Welcome to the University of Guelph-Humber!

Student Financial Services has prepared the following information and checklist to help new students and their parents navigate the financial aspects of their first year.

OSAP Applications

Parents play an essential role in the OSAP process by providing necessary information and support. However, it is crucial that students complete their own OSAP applications to avoid errors or misunderstandings.

OSAP Inquiries

To discuss OSAP details with a parent or guardian, we require the student’s consent. Consent can be granted directly within the OSAP application, allowing us to provide parents with relevant information regarding their child’s OSAP status.

Student Account Information

The University of Guelph-Humber offers an authorization process that allows student account information to be shared with parents. Students can grant this access by logging into WebAdvisor and selecting "Release of Financial Information" under the "Financial Information" section.

First-Year Financial Checklist (2025-26)
June-August

✔  Submit your residence application by the June 2, 2025 deadline.  Please note the Residence deposit and first installment payment will be due July 7th, 2025. Visit Humber Residence for more information.

✔ Pay your $500 registration deposit by June 15, 2025.

✔ Apply early for OSAP via the OSAP website. We recommend students submit their application by the end on June for classes starting in the Fall 2025 semester.

✔ Complete your signature and declarations forms and upload them to your OSAP Account.  If applicable, complete the signature and declarations forms for your parent(s) or spouse and upload these to your account.  Please note that you must upload ALL pages.

The National Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC) will send you an email.  When you receive the email, you will need to create an online account with NSLSC and then you will complete your MSFAA online.

✔ Complete your Master Student Financial Assistance Agreement (MSFAA) online. The MSFAA is a lifetime student loan agreement, so you only need to complete it once.
If you don’t already have one, open a personal bank account to receive OSAP funds. Your bank account number is required for the MSFAA.

✔ Tuition and fee statements for the fall semester will be available in WebAdvisor under "Account View" in late July.

✔ Students can request Registered Education Savings Plans confirmation of enrollment letters after they have registered for courses in the respective semester.
