Connect with your Global Pre-Arrival Support (GPS) Advisor
The University of Guelph’s GPS Advisor will be your main point of contact from the moment you receive an offer of admission until your first semester starts. Be sure to let them know you’re a U of GH student!

On-campus housing
International students are guaranteed on-campus residence for the duration of their undergraduate degree (just be sure to apply by the deadlines).
Orientation & student life
Get a head start on your university experience by planning to attend orientation. It’s a great opportunity to meet other students, learn about resources, and get involved in student life at U of GH.
Prepare for your arrival

The Humber International Student Centre offers additional support for international students, including immigration advising, workshops, and activities to help you adjust to life in Canada and at U of GH

Academic support
Our Academic Advisors are here to help you succeed. They can help you create an educational plan, develop learning strategies, and resolve academic issues for your specific program.
Work placement services
We incorporate hands-on work experience into every program at U of GH, starting as early as your first year in some cases. If you’re entering your first year of Early Childhood Studies or transferring into a program that requires a placement or internship, you may need to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check before beginning.
Working in Canada
International students are eligible to work while studying, both on-campus and off-campus, with the proper authorization.
Immigration
If your immigration status changes during your studies—such as becoming a permanent resident—be sure to update your records with the university. This may impact your tuition fees and eligibility for certain benefits. Please contact finaid@guelphhumber.ca for additional information.

Admission Deferrals
If you’re unable to begin studying in your entry semester after accepting your offer of admission, you can request a deferral. Applications open June 2, 2025, on WebAdvisor.
