Overview

Examine theories and research exploring human thought, feeling and behaviour; processes and factors that shape who we become through the study of cognition, emotion and mental health; and technology’s application in psychology, e.g., EEG monitors (used to measure electrical brain activity).
Expect a focused curriculum
A minimum of 70% of the program's core courses are psychology courses. Upper year courses become more focused and offer more applied study, including options such as completing an honours seminar or thesis.

College block credit transfer pathways
Our college block credit transfer pathways allow you to move seamlessly with your college diploma into our honours program.
If you are in your final year of completion, or have a completed Behavioural Science Technician or General Arts & Science diploma, from a recognized Ontario college (or equivalent) with a minimum cumulative average of low to mid-70s, you are eligible to receive up to 5.0 transfer credits (equivalent to approximately one year of study).
General transfer pathways
If you have postsecondary education and are not eligible for a College Block Credit Transfer Pathway, we will evaluate your transfer credit based on your education history once you apply.
Coming from a diploma program
If you have completed coursework or a diploma from a college diploma program, you must have a minimum cumulative average of low to mid-70s to be considered for admission.
Coming from a degree program
If you have completed a degree or degree-related coursework from a recognized college or university program, you must have a minimum cumulative average of 65% to be considered for admission.
100 hours of workplace experience
In the third-year course Applied Study in Psychology, you gain valuable real-world experience as you complete at least 100 hours in a workplace that reflects your goals.

Participate in Common Time: weekly workshops, notable guest speakers and special events that bring together fellow classmates and faculty in an academic and social atmosphere. Many activities are run by our student-led societies and Canadian Psychological Association reps.
Science Rendezvous
This free, interactive, annual event takes place across Canada. Get involved in various Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) activities with children, youth, and adults. Showcase your creative and innovative minds while encouraging the curiosity of others. Engage community members, community partners and peers across all programs, and enhance your resumé.

Become a student affiliate of the Canadian Psychological Association —the national body representing the discipline of Psychology in Canada—and work alongside the Program Head to shape the future of Psychology and psychological sciences. Network with practitioners and researchers across Canada.
Research work
Be a research assistant to one of your professors. These extracurricular opportunities enhance your knowledge, skills and characteristics related to the conduct of research. Generate new knowledge in the discipline of psychology and be one step ahead of everyone else in grad school!

Heading to law school
Graduate ready for Canadian law school or take advantage of our partnerships in England. Earn a senior status law degree (LLB) with The City Law School, City, University of London in just two years without an LSAT requirement, or a Master of Law (LLM) through distance learning with the University of London in one year (full-time) or up to five years (part-time). Both with reduced tuition.
