More students than ever have made the University of Guelph-Humber their top choice, according to application numbers from the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre.

As of the January 13th deadline, the number of Ontario high school students who applied to UofGH for full-time studies rose this year by 2.6 percent, while the number of applicants who made UofGH their top choice rose by 8.2 percent.

Ontarians who are no longer in high school, as well as those from outside the province (both within Canada and abroad), have until May 1st to submit applications to universities. As such, their numbers have not yet been tallied.

“The growing number of applicants to the University of Guelph-Humber, especially the large increase in those who placed us as their first choice, is a testament to the quality of our student learning experience,” says Vice-Provost John Walsh. “It’s clear that students see the value in earning both a university honours degree and a college diploma in four concurrent years of education.”
