Business - Transfer Student
Overview
Transfer to U of GH and earn a degree that will work for you! Business literacy is a must with transferable skills for success wherever your career leads. Whether you’ve already chosen your business direction or if you’re still exploring, use the advantage our small classes offer to network with professors and build skills that are in demand.
Specializations
Select courses reflecting a range of interests or choose to focus your studies in one of seven specializations:
- Accounting: Complete the courses you need to pursue your CPA when you graduate.
- Finance: Learn about banking, insurance, capital projects, investing and portfolio management.
- Human Resources: Learn about talent acquisition, employee compensation and benefits, training and maintaining a productive workforce, and labour laws and standards.
- International Business: Explore global currencies, trade and industry practices of Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America.
- Management: Learn the challenges of running various types of enterprises including for-profit, not-for-profit, small and large businesses.
- Marketing: Explore how product, price, place and promotion meet consumer needs and achieve company objectives.
- Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship: Study key strategies for starting and maintaining a successful new venture.
If you have any postsecondary education and you wish to apply to the University of Guelph-Humber, then you are a Transfer Applicant.
College block credit transfer pathways
Our college block credit transfer pathways allow you to move seamlessly with your college diploma into our honours degree program.
If you are in your final year of diploma completion, or have a completed diploma, in one of the recognized Ontario college two- or three-year diplomas listed below (or equivalent) with a minimum cumulative average of low to mid-70s, you are eligible for block transfer credit.

Up to 5.0 credits for a 2-year diploma and up to 10.0 credits for a 3-year diploma will be granted toward your graduating credentials.
Note: These diplomas have academic alignment with a University of Guelph-Humber program and have met specific high school subject admission requirements.
General transfer pathways
If you have postsecondary education and are not eligible for a College Block Credit Transfer Pathway, we will evaluate your transfer credit based on your education history once you apply.
Coming from a diploma program
If you have completed coursework or a diploma from a college diploma program, you must have a minimum cumulative average of low to mid-70s to be considered for admission.
Coming from a degree program
If you have completed a degree or degree-related coursework from a recognized college or university program, you must have a minimum cumulative average of 65% to be considered for admission.
Up to 520 hours of workplace experience
100 hrs Applied Business Study (Required) + 200 hrs Business Practicum (Optional) or 420 hrs Business Workplace Learning (Optional)

Heading to law school
Graduate ready for Canadian law school or take advantage of our partnerships in England. Earn a senior status law degree (LLB) with City St George's, University of London in just two years without an LSAT requirement, or a Master of Law (LLM) through distance learning with the University of London in one year (full-time) or up to five years (part-time). Both with reduced tuition.
