Planning for the Next 20 Years of Guelph-Humber Success
To plan for future success, it can be meaningful to assess the present — and a powerful reminder of one's roots to look back to the past.
On the 20th anniversary of the University of Guelph-Humber (U of GH), we sat down with one of the founders, Dr. Robert "Squee" Gordon, as he shared his insights into the university's history and the exciting future ahead. He embraced the importance of having a vision for greatness, but cautioned that a vision alone is not enough.
"The bottom line is [that] having vision and implementing it are two wholly different matters. So it’s the follow-up, and sometimes in the little pieces, to quietly do it behind the scenes to make sure it succeeds," Dr. Gordon shared, as he looked at what it took for U of GH to become the thriving university it is today, and for the next 20 years.
