Guelph-Humber building

Portrait of Vice-Provost Dr. John Walsh

On behalf of our staff and faculty I would like to welcome all new students to the University of Guelph-Humber. To all our returning students, welcome back! I hope you all enjoyed your summer and are as excited as I am about the year ahead.

It is a special year for me, as I have been appointed for a further five-year term as Vice-Provost. It is truly a privilege to be able to continue to work with the University of Guelph-Humber community in delivering outstanding undergraduate programs.

Students will notice that there have been some recent changes on campus. The Math and Writing Centres have relocated to the third floor of Humber’s new Learning Research Commons (LRC) building. This means that during the Fall semester we will be developing this vacated space into a multi-use facility that expands quiet study space for students and, strengthens information literacy programming, including library and learning resources for University of Guelph-Humber students.

The year ahead will also see our largest incoming class with the highest ever admission averages. As UofGH students you are enrolled in programs designed to offer expanded opportunities in study abroad, undergraduate research assistantships and work study. I encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities and make the most of your undergraduate experience.

Welcome aboard and good luck with your studies!
