University of Guelph-Humber Technology Services provides a wide range of IT services and support to our community. Some of the services we provide are: lab hardware and software maintenance including the Learning Commons and quiet study area, management of the Computer Support Assistants program - providing support to University of Guelph-Humber faculty, staff and students in the Learning Commons environment and Guelph-Humber Wireless services.
Computer Support Assistants
Computer Support Assistants (CSA's) are work-study students hired by the University of Guelph-Humber to assist students, faculty and staff with technological problems concerning computers in the Guelph-Humber Learning Commons, in GH212 and all Mac and PC computer labs in the Guelph-Humber building.
CSA's maintain and monitor all computers and printers and provide any technical support to users at the Learning Commons desk which is staffed from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday and Sundays.

What computers are available for students to use?
Computers are available for students to use in the Learning Commons and in the Quiet Study area (GH226). These computers are available whenever the building is open. Computer classrooms GH301, GH312,GH321, GH322 and GH323 are available for open use whenever a class is not scheduled. Please observe the regulations that are posted in each room. You'll need your Central Login Account ID and password to sign on to the lab computers. You may be asked to present your University of Guelph-Humber Student ID card as identification and will need to have it on hand.
Where can I find computing assistance?
CSAs are available to assist you with technology questions and problems you may be having. They can trouble-shoot problems with lab hardware and software provided by Guelph-Humber and answer questions about common software and Wireless access. CSAs are normally stationed at the information desk in the Learning Commons. They also check on any problems in the computer classrooms on the third and fourth floors.
What are the computing support service hours at the University of Guelph-Humber during the academic year?
Monday to Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Sunday: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
If you have a technology problem and a CSA is not available (ext.6250), you can report the problem to Humber’s Customer Care staff at ext. 8888.

Guelph-Humber Wireless Network
Wireless network and Internet access at the University of Guelph-Humber is available to GH faculty, staff and students. All that is required is a laptop or PDA with a Wi-Fi compatible 802.11b/g/n wireless network card and a valid Gryph Mail account.
Instructions for configuring your wireless connection with WPA or WPA 2 (Secure Wireless):
Synchronize Your Password
If you can’t log into the ugh-wifi-secure network because it doesn’t
like your userID and/or password, or you are using a non-windows
device; you will need to use the password change utility to synchronize
your password with the wireless security server. Although you may use the same password when using the utility, updated password protection rules may require you to change your password during this process.
