Career Services for Students and Alumni

Career Services has an array of opportunities to help students and graduates take charge of their career and postgraduate education path. The following services are available to current students and alumni:

Career Website

The website allows University of Guelph-Humber students and alumni to post personal profiles and resumes for employers to view, search posted employment opportunities, submit your resume for critiquing, and sign-up for career-related workshops. Bookmark http://career.guelphhumber.ca!

Resource Library

The resource library houses several career related books on everything from resume and cover letter writing, job search and interview skills, business directories, and graduate school.

Some titles include:

    • Resumes For First Time Job Hunters
    • Best Key Words For Resumes, Interviews and Cover Letters
    • The Best Answer: 9 Secrets of Job Winning Interviews
    • How To Be the Employee Your Business Can’t Live Without
    • Job Search Secrets Unlocked
    • The Career Directory – Canada’s 1000 Best Employers for College and University Graduates.

Resources can be used in GH204 or signed out for up to 14 days.

Computers and Workspaces

Students are welcome to drop in and use the computers or workspaces in GH204 to work on career-related projects such as writing resumes and cover letters, searching for employment, preparing for an interview, reading career related materials, etc.

Graduate and Professional School Advising

Our Career Support Peers (CSPs) are trained and ready to help students explore their educational options after graduation. Drop in or book an appointment with an CSP in GH204.

Career-related workshops will be held in GH 204. Information and a schedule is available on the Career Services website.

Career Counselling

Drop in to GH 204 during office hours to meet with a Career Support Peer to get resume and cover letter assistance and help with preparing for an interview.

In addition, Career and Employment Counselling is available in Counselling Services in Room D128. To book an appointment drop in or call 416.675.5090.
